Designed for advanced divers looking to progress into professional dive roles or pursue instructorship, the SDI Divemaster course sets a high standard for entry:

Target Audience: Advanced divers aiming to transition into professional roles within the dive industry, such as dive guides or instructors.

Age and Certification Requirements: Minimum age of 18, holding an SDI Advanced Adventure Diver certification or equivalent, with proven experience in essential diving specialties.

Rescue Diver Qualification: A prerequisite is the SDI Rescue Diver certification or its equivalent, ensuring a solid foundation in diver safety and rescue operations.

Health and Safety Credentials: Current CPR, first aid, and oxygen provider certifications are required, demonstrating comprehensive emergency preparedness.

Dive Log Prerequisite: A minimum of 40 logged dives to show extensive diving experience and familiarity with various underwater environments.

Through this program, you’ll explore four specialized diving areas of your choice, plus become a certified SDI Rescue Diver. With the completion of 50 logged dives, you gain unparalleled experience, preparing you for almost any diving situation. Master Scuba Diver Prerequisites
The SDI Master Scuba Diver Development Program is designed for dedicated divers aiming to achieve the pinnacle of recreational diving certification. Ideal for:

Advanced Divers: The program requires a new Open Water Diver to complete four SDI, TDI, or ERDI Specialties, the SDI Rescue Diver course, and log 50 dives. This course is the next step for divers looking to deepen their expertise and skill set. SDI feels a diver will be a true master scuba diver after these steps are accomplished.

Age Requirements: Open to individuals 18 years or older, ready for advanced training. Divers aged 15-17 may participate with parental consent, acknowledging the maturity required for such comprehensive dive training.

Commitment to Diving: Suitable for divers demonstrating a strong commitment to diving excellence and safety. This program is tailored for those who are passionate about expanding their diving knowledge and skills across a broad range of specialties and scenarios.

The SDI Assistant Instructor Course is designed to build on the SDI Divemaster Program by gaining practical teaching experience, learning to prepare lesson plans, and give academic presentations. You will work with an instructor to gain experience teaching before moving on to the SDI Open Water Scuba Diver Instructor level. Once you complete the Specialty Instructor training with a qualified SDI Instructor Trainer, you can become qualified to teach several SDI Specialty Diver courses.

The SDI Open Water Scuba Diver Instructor (OWSDI) course is designed to teach current Divemasters or Assistant Instructors certified with a recognized dive training organization the knowledge to effectively function as an open water scuba diver instructor. This program is divided into two sections, an instructor development course (IDC) and an instructor evaluation course (IEC).
