Cardiff Scuba
The way ahead for 2023
Cardiff Scuba Centre will be closing as a Retail service to the local diving community from 30th November 2022. (The shop only).

The Centre has been one of the 2 main focal points of Scuba Services in the immediate Cardiff and surrounding areas for many years.
Local demand and the current economic climate have taken the current owners to the difficult decision to close the retail part of the business.

Cardiff Scuba has enjoyed the loyalty of an amazing number of local divers and has played a central role in guiding numerous individuals through their Scuba development, from Beginner to Instructor. These aspects of the business will continue.

The business has been under the management of several owners over the years with experienced Instructional staff and with the current owner in place for the last 17 years, with several dedicated and experienced Instructors, Divemasters and Rescue Divers supporting the business.

Training has been offered through two training Agencies - The Professional Association of Scuba Instructors (PADI) for recreational diver training and PADI Tec Rec for Technical training. Emergency First Response Training has also been offered in conjunction with PADI.

In more recent years, Scuba Divers International (SDI) has added greatly to the Recreational Training programme in conjunction with Technical Divers International (TDI) for our Technical training. First Response Training has also been introduced into the programme of education.

Our customer base has been amazing and has afforded us the opportunity to gain an outstanding reputation for Scuba Diver Education, with many returning students, many of whom have also become great friends.

So, our sincerest thanks for the support, loyalty and contribution each customer has made to us in Cardiff Scuba and to the Instructors, Divemaster's and Rescue Divers making us the business we have become.

Going forward

-
The shop will close to the public as of 19h November 2022. Airfills & cylinder testing will not be available from this date.
Courses
-
Courses will still be offered from Beginner to Instructor.
-
Our main focus for courses will use the Scuba Divers International, Technical Divers International and First Response International’s programmes.
-
PADI courses can be booked by arrangement.
-
All theory will be delivered through eLearning, with follow-up Zoom session, Confined Water (Swimming Pool) sessions and Open Water session at an Inland Water facility – mostly at Vobster Quay - Inland Dive Centre.
-
Bookings can still be made by calling Rob on 07917226034 or by contact through the 'Contacts' page on the website.
Kit Sales
-
Access to our main suppliers will continue and so Scuba kit sales will still be available from many of the National Suppliers. Kit requests with an agreed sale will be processed with payment required when the sale is agreed. No stock will be held – orders will be placed on the same day of ordering.
Repairs
-
Scuba Dry suit and other Watersport suit repairs will still be facilitated by Rob on a ‘Collect & Return’ basis. Unfortunately this will mean a slight increased cost for each ‘Collection & Return’. This service will aim to complete each repair within 3 – 5 working days. A price list will be added our website in due course.
Airfills & Cylinder Testing
-
Airfills and cylinder tests will not be available after 19th November. Customers should seek this service from a different outlet. We would highly recommend Bristol Channel Diving in Cardiff.
Trips
-
Dive trips will continue to be offered, and, due to a significant change to planned course scheduling for 2023, regular local and foreign trips will be offered and advertised on the Cardiff Scuba Website and on our Facebook page.
Contact
All contact can be made either by email at info@cardiffscuba.co.uk or phone on 07917 226034 or via the contact page on the website at www.cardifffscuba.co.uk. Customers are encouraged to become a member of Cardiff Scuba through the Website as this play be an important part of sharing information. The current shop contact number will cease to be available from 30th November.

Cardiff Scuba as a business will continue but with a slight change in focus, scheduling and delivery but with the same great outcomes.
All customers currently booked onto courses will not see any changes to the programme they have signed up for. If anyone has any concerns then please contact Rob on 07917226034.

It follows to complete this announcement by thanking everyone (too many to name individually) who has supported the Centre.

Our focus will remain, as it always has been:

'Your safety is our priority'
